Like any physical sport Water polo is also in need of protective and performance enhancing swim gear. The most important piece of gear is the head gear. The hats which contain the numbers of the players also have a hard plastic covering around the ears to protect the players from getting col flower ear (common in wrestlers). Next would be the swim suits. Water polo swim suits fit differently than a normal swim suit. For women they are made to cover the entire mid-sectio
n of the body including all of the back. This makes it harder for the opposing team to grab. for males they are the same as what swimmers would wear. The balls are made with high quality materials that allow for a precise grip. there are two different regulation sizes of balls. the women play with a size 4 ball and the males play with a size 5
ball. The cages are made to standard size with the use of metal bars and net to enclose it.
