Water Polo

The main parts of offense in water polo is getting the ball to the hole set and/or to run drives to get open and score. The hole set sits in front of the cage and waits for a wet pass about and arms distance away. if the ball makes it into the hole set that person works for a shot by either turning the defense or doing a backhand. But if a foul comes before the hole set can shoot then there is a three second period where the hole set has a free pass. It is then that the other players have to run drives and picks to create movement to let the hole set pass and ultimately get open to shoot. The other type of offense consists of running drives because the hole set is guarded heavily. There are many different drives that are ran in water polo, such as wing picks, flat drives, point drives, point picks, cross drives, turn and go and foul and shoot. By running drives it allows for drive shots as well as making the defense move which leads to opportunities for the offense.
