Water Polo


There are seven positions in water polo. The point is located at the seven meter in the middle of the pool. The point has one of the strongest arms and has good ball handling skills. It is there job to call out plays and direct the offense. The two flats are located on either side of the point on the seven meter. It is their job to V-in and V-out ie. get open for the point to have a safe pass. they also have the responsibility of creating movement. The hole set also known as two meter is located on the two meter in front of the cage. It is the hole sets job to get open in order to create an opportunity for a safe pass into the set and ultimately score. Two wings are located on the two meter on either side of the hole set. It is their job to get open water so a pass from the flat can come to them and they can either pass it into the hole set, shoot, or drive. Lastly is the goalie position. the goalie has to job of directing the defense letting them know where the ball is at all times, passing the ball off on a counter and of course blocking shots.
